Hello all,

I have a question and not sure this is the right section but here goes. I know many of you use hard plumbed PVC with ball valves to fill your tanks. I use a length of 1-1/4 vinyl hose with a ball valve on the end to fill mine and after awhile it gets a pinkish scum on the inside that I clean with bleach. My question is this, does this scum build up in PVC pipes also or is it just the vinyl hose ?? I am thinking of hard plumbing my larger tanks and would like to know. Thanks for the insight.

It's just a bacteria bio-film, harmless other than it can slow water flow down but it grows on everything
