dark spot at base of tail

Hey all....I have a 4.5" red turq, about the past week or so has had a dark, oval-like spot at the base of its tail. Looks like a very odd stress bar, but this is new and doesn't come and go as the other stress bars naturally do. Eating and acting normally otherwise and water checks ok. something I should be worried about? If not, what is it?

A photo would help, but I am thinking it may be one of the coloring anomalies we see occasionally--I had a WLSS with it--looked like a bruise, was a large oval shape near the base of the tail. It came and went, mostly came, but didn't affect the discus' vitality or health.
