Ive had a small school of 8 discus for almost a year now. 5 or them are from brewmaster and are the most beautiful amazing fish, then I have 3 pet store rejects that are happy and healthy but won't win any best in shows. I had them all in a 55g planted show tank at my apt. At the beginning on Jan. I moved into my fisrt house and My buddy gave me a 110 tall. Its been set up with 2 fully cycled fluval 305s for over a month with my apsitos, and school of neons living happily. I'm waiting for the grass to grow in so that I can turn the co2 and lights down just to maintain the tank not really grow much more. The discus are currently in their 55g bare bottom with a sponge filter attached to a canister.
The 110g has quite a current with the 2 filters running through glass lilly pipes. Will by discus be stressed by this or will they enjoy the exercise? This is my first big tank so I'm just concerned about adequate filtration.

They will be fine with the current.

Discus will be fine. What's a glass lilly pipe please?
Best regards

From my experience, they will be fine but they will not stay at places where the current is high. So they might swim around less.

Usually use for planted aquarium.

Here's a photo of a glass Lily pipe outflow

Thanks for the photo. Never saw that before. Advantages? Why do you use it?
