hi. im wondering if stocking a 55 gallon tank with 6 discus, a school of tetras, a bushynose pleco, and a german blue ram will be too much in terms of bio-load and swimming space.
thanks for the replies

If you have good filtration and keep up with the water changes it won't be a problem.

Tips to keep in mind to help your aquatic friends if you do decide to stock with that many fish are:
-Have a BB tank. This will help a LOT with making sure leftover excrement or food is not fouling your tank water
-Do as many WC's as you can
-There is no such thing as having too much filtration

thanks for the reply discuskeeper. yes, i was planning to keep a BB tank with a piece of driftwood and potted plants. right now, i have an 8" oscar, and i do about 30-50% water changes every week. also, i have a eheim pro II 2026, which i also clean every month. do you think this regiment would meet the demands of water quality for discus?

Instead of doing a 30-50% water change once a week you might want to shoot for two 25% water changes every week
