sponge filter

I got my shipment today of my new leopard skin pair and they decided to lay eggs on the sponge filter an hour after release. But as soon as i turn off the sponge filter they started eating all the eggs=(
is there any way i can get the discus from laying the eggs on the sponge?

Take the sponge fitler out of the tank or isolate it from the discus, a wire cage around it will work.

Put some type of breeding cone, a piece of slate, etc in the tank for them to spawn on. You never know if they will though, people have had them spawn on the side of the tank and the heater.

I have had the female remove the eggs from the breeding pot to the sponge filter (which was on) and then back to the cone. So do like angela suggests maybe they will hatch.
