I bought 14 Discus from Wattley's 3 years ago at 3 inches. All are 6 to 7+ inches now. Out of 3 Blue Diamond I got a pair, out of 3 Sunshine I got a pair, out of 4 Striated Turqs I got 2 pairs, out of 4 Red Panda I got one pair. I liked them all except the Red Panda which had too much pepper for my liking and 3 out of the 4 were a bit football shaped. The 4th Red Panda was an excellent fish with little peppering. The Sunshine females had quite a bit of pepper too, the male had it only on his nose. Back then I didn't know about using light backgrounds to keep peppering down. They were all nice fish.

Thanks, I like them alot. The have been very healthy, and Gabe Pasoda was great to work with. I have to tell you though, next time I buy Discus I want to either pick them out myself from the breeders place of business or use a SD Sponsor who I can trust to pick the highest quality fish for me. ;) It was such a bummer to recieve those Red Pandas that did not look like their picture on the Wattley web site.

I use Rosenthal breeding cones and pleco cones, fake plants, as well as a bit of wood and larger round stones siliconed together for the bristlenose when I keep Discus in groups. But for my breeding tanks it's bare bones!! lol

I would be in trouble if I reccommended one sponsor over another. Besides, there are so many good ones! I myself am planning a trip to Jack Taylors sometime because I'm only 3 1/2 hours away from him. Just look at the sponsor section and the posts the sponsors make. They post pictures of the actual fish and will send photos of the fish they select for you before they send them. You can also read the feedback section and see if they have good ratings from our members here. I could seriously pick a dozen sponsors I'd love to own fish from. Trust me!
