I have a discus that I am thinking may have gill flukes. I tried to get a pic but you couldn't really see it in it so I will just try to describe.
It looks like a ruffled lining coming out the back of the gill plates it is almost a clear color. I am thinking this is not normal as I don't remember it being there and it's not on my other fish.

Hi, Gill or skin flukes are not visible with the naked eye...what you're seeing is probably excess mucus production or the very fine secondary edges of the operculum. This could be from any kind of gill irritant ...bad water, nitrite, flukes to ich to costia..a whole range of possibilities

Check everything out 1st
