After my first not so nice ordeal getting into discus, I did plenty of reading on this forum, and learning! Which is whats its all about, right? Well, after getting all my tanks straightened out, I purchased two Large Wilds from Frybabies. They are huge, 6+ inches, and have acclimated well. Though they are much more shy then my next purchase. I heeded everyones advise and purchased discus from a sponsor of this site, Mike Beals from Central Ohio Discus. GOSH, What great communication. Made me feel so much better about doing all of this. Fish have arrived, 6 Blue Diamonds, 3 Rose Red, and one Albino. And I must say the Albino is my favorite. Think I might be getting into the "Whites". Juvies are doing great after adjusting to the QT tank, and I cannot believe, but they are eating from my hands already. I do a 70 WC every day on the little guys, 25 on the wilds who are in a 55 gallon planted. I CANNOT take my eyes off these fish. Funny thing is, the little ones from Mike are in a tank that sits a little above me and behind me in my home office. Now that they know where I am, they all line up and stare down at me when they feel its time to eat, which seems ALL the time!! I feel like I am being watched by ALiens.

I apologize for the pictures. I have a little Olympus digital and spend hours last night using every setting to take pictures. I am definately NOT camera savvy, but here are a few. None of these pictures do any of the fish any justice. Mikes Fish are incredible!!!!
Thank you MIKE

Thanks Sherry (aquagal), and yes there is no comparison to the unfortunate discus that I recieved before my research (not that I didn't give those guys the best of care the short time they were with me), and these quality fish. I am totally spellbound. They are absolutely magnificant. I don't need TV at all, I just sit here and watch them. I have learned so much, and so much the hard way, which I am sure a lot of newbies do when getting into the fish. While I am still new to these guys, am reading and following advise, and doing what works for me. And so far, so good. I originally was doing this just because I liked the discus, keep them as pets, but the bug as bitten me hard. And I should know I never do anything halfway. Thinking back of the horse breeding years, and the Jack Russells, I started the same way and ended up being one of the better known breeders because of my quality (still have the JR's). So I really should have known, that Discus were going to do the same thing to me.
Thank you so much for everyones kind words and for the wealth of information on this site. I am into this now all the way. We shall see where it goes. All I know is I LOVE these fish, and again, want to thank Mike for giving me such a good experience.
I actually had a juvie crawl into my hand this afternoon, trying to get that wayward bloodworm out of there.

Oh yeah, I have the Discus Fever very badly. :D
