Welcome to SimplyDiscus.
I'm from south NJ-I also was looking for a good source of quality discus after seeing what you can get from local fish stores(LFS):(
I have posted the same question on here.
I've found that the sponsors on this are your best bet to obtain nice/healthy discus.
I was real hesitant to have fish shipped, but my experience with was good!
If your looking for a sponsor within a few hours drive-I would recommend (Al) CTDiscus-check in sponsor section.His fish are beautiful & he's a very helpful with any questions you may have(he's answered many from me & I never bought any fish from him...YET)
I find it nice to pick the fish myself & Al's in Conn. so it's really not all that far-or he'll ship to you!
