Does anyone aerate their R/O water storage tank?

Thanks,

Mickey

If its 100% RO like a storage tank, I don’t see any reason to aerate the water. The point of aerating tap water is to speed up the process of degassing the co2 and chlorine. RO has neither. The only reason I see to aerate is if your heating the RO water, so you have water movement

I have to put air in my RO or my fish will tail stand for an hour after..I figure it was to the lack of O2 in the water..when I put air stone in it for awhile then things are fine..

Mickey,

Like Rick said, I aerate my RO holding tank only to help with the heating process.

Way wrong there Rick, RO water certainly can have large amounts of Co2 in it. Depending on your system (What shape your prefilters are in...) you could have chlorine too.

If you have pH problems with your tap water, you may want to aerate your RO water too..Well water fed systems in particular can have this problem.
