Hi all,:)
I think I need some help with one discus who is currently spawning and has some white cottony stuff on her fins. I really don't know what to make of it. Not sure if it is pure fungus or a bacterial issue starting...She had that before and it cleared up. Water params: PH 6.4/ temp 85/ trites: 0/ trates: 5-10/ KH 3/ ammonia 0. I have fungus clear in the tank right now. Attached is a shot, hopefully good enough for you to see something!
Thanks!
Sophie

PS: There is no mouth fungus. At the bottom of the picture, you will see white stuff right on the edge of the fin....

I wouldn't be surprised if that is a bit of bactera infection from the two fish shoving each other around before spawning. A healthy fish in good water will have no problem healing itself.

I wouldn't be dumping drugs in there and messing up the water quality

OK Graham, would you remove the fungus clear then?
As far as I can tell, my water quality is fine so far.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers!!!

It's in there now I'd just leave it. It'll re-act with the organics and expend itself.
