I have a pair of fire red whom without fail spawn once a month.
The pair is roughly 1 year to 1 and a half years old.
the problem is they eat the eggs within two days
at first it was the male so 24 hours after the spawn i would remove him and then she would eat the eggs and if i cover the cone they both leave it alone completely and go to the other end of the tank.
it is close to the time for them to spawn again and well here i am looking for suggestions.

Have you left them both in there with wigglers and then free swimmers? That is what you might try and see if the parents eat the freeswimmers. Caution.....sometimes you will see a parent put a fry in there mouth and you think they eat them but they will spit them back outafter a couple seconds.

Just be patient, some discus take a while to get it right. My pair of LSS can't get past 2 hours without the male eating the eggs but this is the 4th time they laid eggs.
