Discus numbers

The recommended number of Discus is 6 or 7? Either for breeding or to form social group so a weak Discus would not get beat up so bad, for pecking order.

At least 6 discus to start with is good, and the more the merrier if you have a sufficiently sized tank and want to get enough so that later as they grow out you can cull your 'non favorites'.

Think I may have max out, I currently have Six 2 - 3 inch young discus in my 50 gallon tank right now. My tank is 36x15x20 high. But my bio filtration Aquaclear 70 can handle more. I have Rena xp2 standing by also. Do you think can add two more Discus?

with that added filtration, sure you can. Fire up the Rena and go fish shopping!
