Hello
I wanted to know if anybody here cook their beef heart mix in the oven.
Because I saw somwhere saying that it has to be cooked to kill the bacteria introduced while making the mix? dosent this remove some vitamins from the mix if cooked?
also if you do cook please let me know at what temp and for how long.
the only thing i cook in mine is the liver and the spanege by boiling.
thanks

Grind it raw and freeze.

I would never cook it and I know of only very few cases where people do cook any of the mix.

thanks for replying
but dosent cooking remove any bacteria, and reduce the chance of internal parasit.
there is this breeder called rocky mountain discus who claim to be in bussines for a long time and they recomend cooking it for 20 minuts at low.
i did it once but i overcooked so the fish didnt really liked it.
but please check this out:

According to Al's recipe, the short cooking time is to activate the binder (agar agar) only, not kill any bacteria.

dont know about cooking beef heart, but somebody said in ther mix they not only cook th bh but worms and such. I said it b4, my wife would flat out loose it if she saw me cooking worms on the stove top. I think Peter of Gywenbrook farms has a cooked mix that he displays on his website.
