Hi,
Just a quick question of opinion. Is an Aquaclear 70 too much flow for a 30 gallon grow out tank? Should I go with the Aquaclear 50? I also have 2 sponge filters on this tank. There will be six juvies in this tank. I will perform twice daily 80% water changes. Any quick replies would be appreciated as I am going to be off to buy one in a few hours.
Thanks,
Jen

You can always modify the flow rate through the filter with valves and you have extra filter capacity, which is always good for discus tanks.

I have used AC 70's on 29gal tanks but I'd say they are the max I'd use and would be too much for some fish. I have one on a 55gal now and with 10 3"to 4" discus it keeps the ammo at 0. I think you'll end up going to a bigger tank soon as a 55 is the smallest tank I'd use to grow out discus.
