Hi ,
One of my large discus has one "Gill" closed , the other gill is healthy , bright red filiment
no sign of anything wrong there, but its being extended fully , reason i can see inside the
gill cover, fish does not appear to be distressed , breathing seems fine, have thought of
gill flukes!! water parms are ok, he is new stock thinking maybe just getting used to
my water!! all water is filtered through an HMA (Heavy Metal Axe) carbon filter.
Any ideas or help appreciated, all other new stock are healthy.
Regards....Ben.

If one gill has flukes the other will also...any flashing?

I wouldn't go dumping any chems in there just yet

Hi Graham,
Thanks for your reply, Good news done a large water change 50% to the
Q/T tank, the big guy is fine now and the clamped gill is back to normal, just goes to
show what a water change can do, Oh and hows things in Canada, i was 12years in
Pictou Nova Scotia, my two sisters were born over there.....Regards Ben.
