I've got six leopard snakeskin discus in a 90 gallon planted tank with two 48" bulbs designed for plants.
I notice that there is a dramatic difference in the appearance of the fish depending on where they are in the tank: at the top they are very dark, in the middle they are sort of washed out brown, and at the bottom in the front they look their best -- the reds, and iridescent blues stand out.
Any thoughts how to make changes to positioning, brand, strength of lighting in order for the colour of the fish to appear at its best in more of the tank?
