Unless th Brineshrimp is gut-loaded, they don't have a lot of nutritional value. Mysis Shrimp is much more nutritionally valuable.

I try to feed mysis shrimp, my discus will not eat them. WILL NOT!!!! They look at it bite it and spit it right back out! Spoiled brats lol. They all eat bs,bw,bh but no mysis! Dont really understand why but guess they do.

I got mysis shrimp from my LFS and my discus wont touch them. They were out of flats of FBW so I thought I'd try them.............what a waste........

My discus love the mysis shrimp. I also feed Hikari spirulina brine shrimp and they really go crazy for this. I ordered both at drsfosterandsmith.com.

Mine love the spirulina bs but, in order to get them to eat the mysis... it has to be the first meal of the day, they'll eat it all up then! LOL

I have been trying to get my gang onto PE Mysis. Not sure where else it is sold but I find it a much better quality compared to others available in Canada. The Mysis are much bigger, and in one piece. Right now I am cutting them up a bit so they fit into their mouths and they have on occaision mistakingly taken one ;)

Gut Loaded: given nutrional food before frozen or fed to to increase their own nutrional value...in a nut shell. The PE mysis have pink bellies which is a sign to look for in gut load shrimps.

My Seahorses used to LOVE this stuff, would snick it as soon as it hit the tank.
