Automatic Feeder

I bought the $40 eheim automatic fish feeder and it feel in the tank after using the supplied adhesive pad. I need a more full proof way of attaching it to the tank. How do you all have them fixed to your tank?

I lay mine on the back of the glass canopy with a notch cut out in the plastic strip and let it sit right on top.

Most of mine sit on top of the AC filters, do use sticky velcro on some, no problems even using double back packing tape....others sit on the lights & hang over a cut-out of the plastic stip as TH does....

I guess I asked because i used the supplied strip and the feeder fell into the tank, killing 6 of my discus.(I used it while out of town). My gf bought a different feeder from the lfs that has a clamp and it works excellent. However, it only feeds twice a day and I'd like to use the eheim since I payed for it. But I don't want to kill any other fish either.
