I have my first small batch of red melons, now just over six weeks old, and they are all still quite pearly-white (with a hint of peppering to come on a few).
Roughly when do these guys start showing colors?

Hi Judy,

My fish only started from 6 months to show some color and pattern.
After that things happens quite fast.

Hi Judy,

I have some 3.5 months from a pair of RGD x Red Scarlet (similar to RM, pigeon base). They started putting some color at around 2.5 months old. They are still not red yet. It will probably take another month or two for them to turn red. I was told it depends on the food that you feed them with when are young. I just feed them with FBW, flakes, red color bits, and BH.

So it'll be quite a few weeks yet... well, they look pretty nice in that pearly-white color, so I'll just enjoy that for now...
