my wife is taking weekend classes all day and i am not sure how my 2.5 yrs old son will take it, but i am trying my best to come thru. very sure that i cannot attend all the events - but since wife and son will be in bed early, at the minimum i will probably come and see someone named....Hans Koops van 't Jagt on Friday night. ;)

somehow i just noticed the registration. that will pretty much guarantees that i will attend other events. :o:D

With gas, energy and food inflation running high the last several years, more and more people are traveling less and staying home. People just have less money to spend. It would cost me around $400 in gas to make a round trip to Atlanta. That's just too expensive for me.

Have fun at the show. Please post lots of photos.

that's one of the reasons why we are driving the 10 hours, Joanne & I do those shows always together, but flying is over the top at the moment. Driving is still cheaper as 2 tickets.

Gas prices are pretty high indeed but still half of what I was used to in Holland.

But if I didn't had told Ken a year ago I would come, I also probably would have toughed twice,

Hans, why don't you try to video tape your presentation at the ACA and post it on Youtube for those who can't attend the show. Or maybe some other simply member that has a video camera could do that. That would be interesting to watch.

I would love to come to this, seeing how I only live two hours away. But from what I've read on the ACA site it looks like you have to be a member. Is this true? Also, if I signed up now you have to mail in a check or money order, no credit cards. Can you sign up at the convention?

Yes you can sign up at the convention! Go!!! Enjoy!!!!

We will not be attending. However, anyone that is able to drive, it is with it. Not only to see all the great fish there but to meet fellow forum members and meet new friends.

Here are my pics. I was to busy drooling to get pictures of Hans actual room, but i did get pictures of his showfish. Hans i hope the picture does them enough justice (Probably not), they were huge and nice.

Nice pictures Matt.

Seems not everybody on the forum liked the quality of the Discus, I'm glad the visitors of the ACA all liked them.

I'm sure those who didn't like them are going to show us something at the ACA 2009 in Cincinnati,

Hmmm.. Maybe some people want to rethink if they like the German or Asian discus the best. Like Al said, it was an unfair question.. They're ALL BEAUTIFUL !!! Hey Hans, is that my German Blue male, silver pigeon you showed :9)

Hans, was this your fish? A brilliant maybe? It was probably my favorite discus in the show. That fish was a hoss, a monster!

That Brilliant was probably my favorite in the whole show. It shape and head profile was almost perfect! The picture really doesnt do it justice. If Heather didnt find the 2 that she wanted, I would have taken that fish home.

FYI Hans, we already have 200 fry :-)

Wow, that's a perfect 10 for me!
For those that saw it in person, did it have red eyes?

Dkarc@Aol.com
08-04-2008, 09:54 PM
The fact that it had amber eyes was one of the major flaws this fish had. If it had red eyes, I would had bought it.

It is a shame about the eye clolor isn't it, Rayn? Still it would make a beautiful addition to a display tank. And if it were to be bred to a fish that was homogenous for red eyes, it would produce red eyed kids. No fish are perfect in every way.

Discus-n00b

Why would amber eyes be a flaw? Just curious as i do not know.

yogi

Amber is not really a flaw, but red is more desireable. It's the fact that most people find red a prettier color than amber.
