ulcer / tumor??

i just noticed today that one of my juvenile discus has this protrusion in front of one of his gill plates? the protrusion isn't open, but it looks slightly purplish. is this an ulcer or something? my other fish don't show it...

hmmm well that big lump is gone this morning... maybe it was a big bruise?? :confused:
