Has anyone kept these two together? I've kept discus with baby whales and had no problems at all...I thought an elephant nose with a discus might be good because the elephant nose would also sift my sand substrate.

i had an elephant nose with my discus for many years, and he was a very good tankmate for them. Actually they pretty well ignored each other. :)

Two musts for Elephant Nose; they must have a cave to hide in and they are crazy jumpers, make sure your tank is escape proof. :)

It's a catfish from Brazil. Also know as Blue canero Shark or blue shark

Ed13, its not a catfish. The baby whale i'm referring two is a mormyrid (a freshwater, electric receptive fish out of Africa). Same family as the elephant nose.

Sorry, the only fishes I've ever heard reffered to as baby whales, whales are the cetopsidae family

With this one being the most frequent import:

I currently have 2 elephant nose about 6 inches long with 2 medium discus inside a 55g. They do very well up to now as long as you have a planted aquarium with several hiding places. Elephant nose can be very curious and playful but I have not seen them harm any discus or any other fish.
