Hi everybody: I know the importance of QT. And I think it would be a good idea to use a "gunea pig' to test the reaction of the new fish before adding it into the main tank. Bt what if you dont have a "guinea pig" discus available. How much value would using another fish (of a different species) be? For example...I have only 4 discus. They are all not candidates for "guinea pigs", and there is no one that is expendable. So, the little rummy nose left over from last year ago (the only one that survived from the discus attacks) is the only fish left. Can I use his as a guines pig? What about an angle if I had some with the discus before (hypothetically...I dont have any angel, and I dont particularly like them)? I am thinking that there isnt a real value of using a different species of fish to test. S, in that case, I should maybe just assume the fish has parasite and treat with parzi-pro and quik cure, and even metro for a few weeks in a quarantine tank...Then, if all is well, just transfer? mike
