Pool Filter Sand & PH

For those of you who use silica pool filter sand in your Discus tanks, have you noticed that is has an affect on your PH in any way?

My PH is already a bit on the high side, but fairly stable with regular water changes. I do know that the buffeting capacity is low and I have to be careful what kind of rock or sand I add to the tank.

Wendi, silica sand should have no affect in any way on water pH, GH or KH...it's inert

I tested the sand. I tested the TDS of my tap water and then added sand. It did not effect the TDS at all. Don T.

I can also say that it doesn't have an effect on pH.
