Very nice wild, is it easy to find wild discus in Hong Kong? If I remember the ph is around 6-6.5 out of the tap water right.

Lucky for me - the tap water from the HK Island side is acidic but not too soft. So I don't need to do too much with the water to begin with, but still need to use peat to soften the water and keep the pH down.

Not easy to find wild fish in HK, as there are too many bred-strains that are not too expensive around. Most good quality wilds goes to Japan, and recently to Taiwan and China mainland. Took me over 6 months of asking around, searching, and waiting to get hold of around 12 good fish. There are regular shipments of plecos and string rays from South America as there is a large demand for these fish, and only once in a while would they order wild discus. And when they do - the good quality fish are gone before they are out of the box, as there are a few keen wild discus keepers in HK - enough to allow competitions but not enough to justify regular shipments... too bad.

Here are 4 more ... these I've had between 6 to 9 months...

you have a collection of stunning wild discus. the green is just sensational. what strain is the one in the first picture? the one that has a lot of red color and markings on body? absolutely beautiful.

I will give you a litlle update on my heckels and what we have done and so far it helped. We lowered temperature to 27deg C, pH to 4 and added plenty of peat moss (in the bag) to a tank. That "crazy" heckel stayed by that bag for a couple of days and was picking on it.
