I used a pink powder called "Green Blue Algae Remover" in my planted tank with great success before introducing discus. I'm wondering if anyone has experience using it with discus in the tank. Is it safe?

Thanks.

Never heard of that product, but if you're looking to remove blue green algae (cyanobacteria), erythromycin (found in either EM tablets or Maracyn) will work and not harm discus:

Thanks, Wahter, for your reply. I am not sure I have blue-green algae. I think it is more likely 'hair algae.' The Blue-Green Algae Remover I mentioned (made by Ultralife Reef Products) killed this hair algae last time, before discus were in the tank.

Is there a safe treatment for hair algae?

Thanks.
