Problems finding breeding pairs

Hey guys..

I have set up few tanks ready to breed discus. The only problem I have is, I live in Sri Lanka and it's almost impossible to find a good breeding pair. Is it possible to import from another county? is it safe? and if you can help me out with some info as in where to start my search, It would be much appreciated.

Even if you buy a proven breeder pair it does not mean they will breed for you. Different water conditions or them not getting along in the changed environment may be a few reasons. I would recommend buying 5 or so discus be it young adults or juvies ( more numbers if juvies) , grow them out together and let them pair up.. Great way to get breeders. They pick out their own mates and are used to your conditions.
