Hi,

One bucket of fresh water is not enough to do a partial change in my aquarium so I was thinking of buying a water tank (jerrycan) which holds enough water for a partial water change. I would leave the tank age for 24hrs before doing the change. However, since the water tank will be closed would this be a problem for the water? Should aging water be open for air?

thanks

It does not need to be open for air (some though) but make sure you have an air stone or something to circulate the water. You will probably need to add a heater to get the water temp close to your tank temp.

So the best would be to leave the tap of the water tank open so that you can pass the air stone pipe and heater wire from it?

If you just have clorine 24 hrs is fine. If you have cloramine you need to remove it chemicaly.
Most discus keepers airiate and heat the water storage. Get a bigger water storage container than you think you need. Discus are addictive and it is nice to have some extra for minor emergencies. Don T.
