Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has used beef livers in their bh mix? I had a friend drop some off, don't know what to do with it as I don't like beef liver myself and was thinking of using it in my next batch of beef heart. Any suggestions? Thanks

Evelyn:)

Hi Evelyn,
I've used them, and know of others that do or have....Biggest problem is its very messy....The only time I had any success with it a food and kept the water reasonable clean was when used with a gelatin Binder...IMO>>>not worth the hassel..

Cook it 1st, this will bind up the blood content, but it can still pollute if you dump too much in.

What would you think of rinsing it after cutting into cubes removing most of the blood, then running through meat grinder then rinse again with strainer? Would this remove to much nutrients making it useless?

Thanks Graham. I might try the cooking option.
