Hey!
I am interested in some input!
I have a 60 gallon acrylic planted tank with
about 3 1/2 to four inches of gravel. I want to
try and move it without taking out the substrate
and plants.
It's not on a stand, but I am moving it to a
stand. And yes it is from one room to the next.
The tank is in a 4 1/2' space in a bar, sitting
on a shelf that is supported well of course
underneath. I have to lift the right side of the
tank for example to fit the plywood or 2x4's or both
underneath. I don't know if I could slide the
rest of the tank onto the plywood. I might
have to lift and slide and inch my way onto
it. I don't know if the person holding the other
end will be in for a heavy burden ( you might say ),
and hold it till I can assist. I need to know how much
weight are we talking about and how many people
do I need. I am thinking about just lifting the tank
and wood support onto a flatbed, or rolling table.
It will support the weight, then roll into the room.
The only problem is I have to lift the tank off of
the rolling table to make a tricky turn in the room,
and then put the tank back on the table and move.
I realize that a little water and 3 1/2" of gravel can
be unusually heavy, so I am wanting to know if two
or three men can carry the tank to the next room.
Whadda Yu say!
