How long should I wait to remove parents or fry from a breeding tank. The male is looking a little chewed on the dorsal fin which it looks like he has pulled down to keep the fry off it. Also, I read some where that bbs eat bakers yeast. Is this bad to feed bbs or will affect the fry?

Thanks

If the female is doing ok with the fry then go ahead and take dad out.

Remember to make new bss everyday. The freshly hatched ones are the most nutritional ones to feed. Most will run 2 bottles so that you can alternate each day with freshly hatched.

I have kept small broods(40) with the parents up quarter size with no problems with the parents. How old are the fry now? The rule of thumb is the fry can be removed once they are eating bbs. Make sure to use fresh bbs as Angela has stated, waiting for every last bbs can create a bactiera problem with the hatching stations. I rotate 3 stations. Ed
