So

1. What is the earliest discus normally pair up?
I have 2 3.5" juvenal fish that are chasing and fanning each other an awful lot.
Is it playing or serious stuff?

2. What is the earliest and normal age fish can spawn?

thank you

IMO it depends on the strain. However, I have had a BD male spawn at approx 10 months old. The males seem to mature slower than the females. Just like humans. lol :D A normal age that I like to breed at is around 14 -18 months.

And how old can a discus pair Spawn?

Look I know there are many factors involved here, I guess I should ask when do they slow down spawning, 5, 7, 9, 12 years old?

I've had imported Asian female PB's spawn at 7-8 months. Males a little longer. That's the earliest. I had a MR male still doing it at 9 years, although his spawns were down to ~25% fertile.
