White wiggle hair like worms that look like tiny snakes swimming in water.
These are Planaria correct? I'm confused as I also see description that look different and stick on the glass, mine are all free swimming, about 1/8" long.

Not harmful to fish , just unsightly.

I notice them when doing daily WC at times and I just now saw some in my tank which I'm doing a fish-less cycle in?
How do they get in there?

All bare bottom tanks that I vacuum daily and usually do 50% WC daily or at the least every other day.
Yes, I am over feeding juvees, but no visible food is left after 5 minutes.

Planaria crawl and glide over the tank surface...The worms that swim in a corkscrew fashion are commonly called stylaria or thread worms and they both are common inhabitants of tanks and are harmless to fish.

Get some BN's. I haven't seen any since I got them!

Thanks for the info,
I have a 2.5" Bristle nose in the tank.
Maybe I need to spank him and get him to work.

When I treated my growout tank with PP for flukes, all the planaria disapeared.

formalin will aslo kill them but they will reapear if conditions don't change.
Most of the time they are from excess nutrients in the water. For me it is normaly feeding to much. Don T.
