Hi I was just wondering does anyone have any different wilds than heckels or greens? I have seen there are a lot of sites carrying wild blues Purus has anyone seen or have these? How about browns I thought they were common but dont see any. Thanks Ed

well I have a number of blues. I have never seen any from the Purus are, but I pretty much take locality data pretty much with a grain of salt anyway. I imagine they look like most blues which are pretty darn variable fish. The brown variant is not seen much as they do not contain enough blue streaking to be popular. You can see my blues here.

Hey Gordon,

Al mentioned in another post that you got your fish for a reasonable price. Wondering what the price is and who from?

Thanks, Kirk

Ed I have pictures of everything in this thread, browns, blues, greens and heckels. There's only 2 or 3 people selling wilds now a days so they all have pretty much the same. You've been to my house so send me a pm on what your looking for and I'll let you know if there around. http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?t=64276

Tacks, i watch many forums, rhat are also about wild discus , including this one. General picture that emerges is that there are few species localitiesthat prevail in wild discus keepers:
1) Tefe or/and Nanay green discus. Those two are practically the same locality variants as nanay greens are actually tefe discus, who were acidentelly introduced there. Besides these two localities there are also greens from Rio Putumayo, Coari,Japura and Jutai, which are rarelly kept by discus hobbysts.
2) Heckels that come from Rio Negro and Marimari river, rarelly beatifull Nhamunda heckels
3) Majority of blue/brown wild discus kept come from a massive system of lakes and lagoons between Santarem at rio Tapajos, Alenquer city and Rio Nhamunda. They are usally sold as Alenquer discus. Sometimes you find Uatama, Nhamunda, Mancapura and Xingo discus. Purus wilds are quite rare.
