fighting

I have 7 dicsus total and I have a pair that have laid eggs out of this group. Well, now I have one larger fish who is constantly fighting with the larger fish that is in the pair. Is he competing for a mate?

Move the pair to their own tank. The higher archy will find its new balance again.

i have not seen behaviors that i would interpret as competing for mate. but thats jus me. i would guess that competing would be some form of dance or maybe, i dont know, some sort flirting.....maybe current manipulation :lickin: lol

if you have a true pair... you will likely see lots of fighting. seems like fish that are trying to lay eggs are constantly running others off, and IME 1 of the pair is usually a lot more aggressive about maintaining the distance.

Thanks, dicsus do have some strange behavior. I am going to move the pair to thier own aquarium shortly.
