Storage options of Spirulina/Asthaxanthin

Hi guys/gals,

would like to check if it's possible to keep spirulina and asthaxanthin powder we get from jehmco/etc.etc. in our freezers instead of refrigerators?

I keep mine in the refrigerator. have not used it for two years ..hope still good.

For some reason I thought you could freeze the unused powder, but can't find anything on that. I store mine in the fridge (expect of course, for what's been used as an ingredient in the beef heart).

Mine is NatuRose & it's in a jar. I'll look at the packaging when I get home for storage instructions.

i was thinking if its equally fine to keep in a chest freezer, as compared to the fridge. i have more storage options in chest freezer than fridge... my folks packs the fridge with too much goodies... so i think i might have to shift the discus supplements to the freezer to prevent confusion.

any comments guys/gals?

I always keep mine in the freezer as long as it's in an air tight container should be no problems.

My jar says "once opened store in fridge or freezer" so that's confirmed. Darren, when you freeze it, does the powder go solid. Do you then have to thaw the whole lot, or is it possible to get out what you need without thawing it all?

I store mine in the freezer. If it clumps up just stir it with a spoon or a fork and it powders right back.
