I love the look of Santarems... first off, can we please see pictures of your Santarems and Rose Reds?
Second, (maybe the pictures will answer this question).... but what are the differences between the Santarem and Rose Red?
I'm really looking forward to some nice pics! :bounce:

Hi..I think a Santerem is a wild type of fish...Where Rose Reds are "man made"..Have a new pair of Rose Reds now with eggs. Will try and get better pics...Bill

Santarem is indeed a wild color. Stendker do have a domesticated strain of Santarem,...the easiness of domesticated discus but still the wild colors and looks. The same for Alenquer. In my opinion the Alenquers are just a bit nicer colored as the Santarem.
Here some pics on the Stendker site. http://www.diskuszucht-stendker.de/cms/index.php?article_id=8&clang=1&cat=4

Wow Bill, Top Notch! Excellent job you did with them. That strain usually isn't my cup of tea...but I can definitely imagine them cruising around my Anubias. LOL

Thanks again Eddie...I always felt the red types of Discus...besides the wild ones, looked best in planted tanks. The red and greens compliment each other...Bill
