Does anyone use a H.O.T. filter on their tank and let it run constantly? Can anyone tell me what brands are good or not good as I am wanting to get one and run it constantly on my tank along with my Emperor 400's. I am thinking about getting the Marineland model.

Any information you can give me would be helpful.

Thanks,

Since I don't know what size the tank is, I can only be general. With filters, you get what you pay for. I would get one rated larger than the tank size, and it would likely be a Eheim.

I use 2 hot magnum 250's on my 75g. .They run 24/7. T hey have been running for a little over a year and a half now.
I have a 3rd with the micron filter that I use occasionaly. I do not use the micron filter 24/7. It will plug up eventualy but is nice to clear the water in a tank that gets dirty water from stirring up the gravel or some other reason.

I have a 180 gallon planted tank , my main filter is a eheim 2217 but I also run a H.O.T magnum 24/7 with the micron cartridge I have to switch to a cleaned cartridge twice a week. It keeps the water crystal clear. I like them.

I run a HOT Magnum 250 on my tank 24/7 with the micron cartridge to keep the water nice and clear. It's been running for quite some time and I haven't had any trouble with it. I also run a Rena XP4, an Aqua Clear 110 and a large sponge filter. My tank is a 125 gallon. :fish:
