male fertalizing no eggs?

Hello,
My male is eager to do his thing but the female is not ready yet to lay her eggs.
This happened last week and the eggs were infertile. Has anyone had this happen?
They are a new pair. I guess they are just not in sinc with each other yet.
If she is ready to lay tomorrow or the next day is that enough time for the male to fertalize the eggs or is he not going to have enough sperm to do the job?

I think they are always ready! Just give them time if you know they are male and female,because they will not get it the first time,but will get better each time they spawn. Later, and good luck
