I go to this swap off and on and have gotten some great deals on equipment, driftwood, bulk dry foods, etc over the years. If you look at the classifieds for fish you may be interested in, you can very often contact the breeders [who live in the tri state area] and arrange to pick up your orders at the swap, avoiding shipping and shipping fees. Lots of oddball one of a kinds and very very good deals on fish. I would be REAL careful about buying discus from the usual venders there, however--that's my caveat; the experiences of my friends over the years have not been very positive--I personally do not do it. Of course QT any live thing you get there! I have gotten some terrific dwarf African cichlids from breeders out of state that came in, and some oddball loaches and plecos. There are a couple plant guys who show also and I always check their stuff. Real good deals!
Best regards

The swap is nice to pick up dry goods cheap. Discus are another story. Most Discus vendors there set up shop to sell off culls. I have talked to many who admit this. And those hobbyist who frequent these swaps know this. I have been able thru the years to get good wild Discus from the swap...but as far as domestics...no...But people buy them up anyways...Bill

I should be there, Ken. I don't really want/need anything ATM but who knows, I may impulse buy. It's always nice to go and look though.

I missed it! Anyone have any discus left?

Chris from Windy City Discus will probably be there again. He was at the last one and he had the most popular stand there. Mostly because everything else was for chiclids lol. Check him out though...

I would recommend calling him and not sending him an email. It's the best and easiest way to get a hold of him.

If anyone gets this and is going to the swap, I'm looking for a black 75 gallon tank and an iron 55 gallon stand (no the 2 aren't going together).

Thanks!
