I've bred discus in a 55..you mean just one pair in a 55 right?..the only downside is; when the fry go free swimming it's harder for the parents to gather them,..I always preffered a 29 or 30 for breeding...

My breeder tanks are 29 h and have had some large broods from 40 L as well. Ed

I prefer a 29 gal also. They are alot easier to maintain when you have fry.
