Is there any chance that warmer water temps could encourage algae growth? I've brought my tank up slowly from 78 F to 84 F for discus introduction and I think the algae has gotten worse. It's not BAD, but more than I'd like. I realize I'm probably never going to get rid of it entirely, but I was just curious what everyone's thoughts were.

When I had a planted tank, I kept the temp. around 82F. I agree that elevated temps. make it easier for algae to grow.

interesting. It's definitely manageable, but just a little more than when the temps were lower. Thanks!

nice avatar! My favorite fly rods.

That's actually what I did. I added 10 red ludwigia. Dunno how it will handle the higher temps, but we'll see. It's already up there in the plant count. The wisteria is like a jungle that i've got to cut back. It seems like the algae likes the java moss. In fact, really the only noticeable algae is on the java moss. i was thinking about just pulling it.
