Ok without the use of a camera, here is the problem.
I have a few fish which have a protrusion in the direct center of their bodies. It is right between their heads/tails, centered almost exactly (same with top/bottom of the fish).
The "lump" is present on both sides of the fish and all fish have this. Some have it less noticeable and others slightly more. The lump is about an inch in diameter and about 1/8 inch in protrusion. I change the water 3x a week, 50% each time. I have 3 fish in a 40g tank. No new fish were introduced to the tank for 6 months. They eat normally (very picky eaters, but they eat never the less. Slight headstanding at around 45% angle. Temp is 82-83.
Please help
