I have and do use it. I like the pellets compared to natural peat moss in the bags or bales. Is more clean, and seems I have to use less of it. I mainly just use it in conjunction with my RO water just to add whatever the beneficial properties may be. I know in my killi keeping, it always made a difference. My Discus seem to really like it...Bill

I use tap water, would that work too?

If your looking to leech out the tannins and trace elements of the peat then that's ok...But if your tap water has a high ph or hardness...then it probally will not work in lowering it much, if at all...Bill
