BTW, to all the Aussie Victorians, hope it didn't seem too disrespectful to post a little joke about the heatwave, that caused such devastation. It is just too gut wrenching, what you all have gone through. The nation is with you.

Those are incredible shots! Was he running away from you or scared? I should have mentioned that I didn't take these pics. Because many parts of Australia were suffering a heat wave over the past weekend with temps of 40C - 46C & higher in some places (104F - 114F) there was an email doing the rounds. The pictures & text are from the email - but I didn't know how to link the email here - so sharing it with you all this way.
That would be something to see one of those in person (and not in a zoo).We live in a bushy area, though it is more built up now than when we built 15yrs ago. Not long after we built, we saw a kangaroo on our neighbours front yard one day - but that was a one off & was highly unusual. Never saw another.
The real question is: DID HE COME BACK?????How could you want to leave Aus - I'm sure he came back :grin:

Yes they swim well sort of. We lived on a river once and all we could see was these ears out of the water so my boys jumped on their surf boards and paddled out to "pick up the little dog!" we thought it was, turned out to be a roo he just got out the other side and jumped away. They must get hot too!

The poor kangaroos in the area are looking for fresh green pickings, and find themselves in all sorts of bother when they enter our suburbs looking for fresh green lawn pickings in our gardens...not that there is much green grass around at the moment with the heat and very restricted watering regulations.
The worst thing is when they are involved with motor vehicles.

They are a beautiful sight when you see them in a mob under the shade of a big old gum tree.

My work has offices, shopping centres & housing sites in Victoria. One of our staff lost her home & her husband is in a critical condition in hospital with 3rd degree burns - but at least he is alive.
