I am so surprised that my pair of discus lay eggs and ferterlized them in every single week (after the failture of the first 2 time)

Here is how I set up the tank now...

I remove the sponage filter.. since last time most of the frys get stucked there.... (Is it a must to use a filter??) I removed the filter during day 4...
I bet the frys will be able to get to the free-swim stage in day 5 or 6 ..that's why I remove the filter...

I plan to not feed the pair until the frys start to stick to the pair and eat...
Is this ok? Because I don't want to make the tank dirty....

I don't think you should shut off your filtration. If it's a sponge, turn the air down, but not off. Fry should not be sticking to filter, unless they are albino or PB fry...which attracts them. I would feed the pair...but sparingly...Bill

I think your pair may have moved them to the sponge filter. Not trapped there. Pairs will move their wigglers around...Bill

What kind of filter is it?...Is it a sponge filter run by air, or a powerhead?...Bill

by power head...
I am pretty sure that the frys get stuck there and die in the next few days

Loose the powerhead. Hook it up to a air pump. They won't get sucked up in it then. You might see a higher fertility rate with your eggs, without all that current in the tank...Bill

air driven sponge filter is the best filter for a breeding tank..
you might have to cover it with a piece of white cloth if the fry want to stick to the dark color, but you can keep it running all the time.

umm the frys are all good now...
but is it normal that the frys are stick on the surface area of the tank glass?
and some of them are actually on the bottom of the tank shaking

the parents will move them and yes they will stick to what ever the parents put them.

at this stage, they can be moved whenever you are sure the fry are eating good.

Everyone has a different opinion on this one. IMO, mother's (and father's :D) milk is best. I leave the fry with parents for three weeks or so. If you can maintain water quality and the parents aren't suffering for it, why not? If you are away during the day the fry are still being fed the best thing going!
