Agressive Spawner

I saw my female Discus making a few passes on the cone I have in the tank. The male though came up behind her, but then instead of following her he pushed her off of the cone. Is this normal for a newer pair?

I have had that in newly formed pairs. Most times they get over it, and some never do. If he keeps it up after several spawnings...you may have to re-think about trying to use him as a breeder...Bill

Thanks. They seemed to have stopped for now, but they are cleaning the other side of the cone.
