Hi all, Just wondering what test kits you use? Are the dip test kits good enough? What would you advise to get. Thanks for the help

What are you trying to test?

I use a Milwaukee Ph meter and a Bishof Conductivity meter.

For Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate I use drip testers...I only test for these when I am cycling a new tank.

just concerned about ph for now. With all the water changes thats being done the other test should have readings of zero.

API brand is a good one at the hobbyist level.

API are the best IMO. I have the big pro kit that has come in handy more time than I can count. As for Ph, I like the electronic probes. They continuously monitor your Ph. Most breeders use these as well. THere are two types. Some are controllers and some are monitors. Controllers have the ability to adjust your Ph for you. Monitors just let you know what it is. I personally use controllers. Love em!!!

I use API or Red Sea for FW, prefer API over Red Sea. If I'm doing a lot of testing, I use Mardel or Jungle 5 or 6 in 1 strips. While not the greatest pinpointers, they are accurate enough in terms of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH to be very useful for quick and frequent testing. The results should, however, be verified against liquid/powder test kits.
