im planning to get this timer. but im not really sure how this timer work. is this an automatic timer will work 24/7 (example 8AM the light goes on-6PM the light goes out.or is it just a timer (example 3 hours the light goes out then after that you will have to set it again)

Dunno on their settings, but all are essentially the same, establish a set point, for on and off (24 hour cycle) and then click on. It doesn't really matter what the "time" is set to as these things don't have clocks. If it's mroe than $10, just go with a "heavy duty" or "appliance" timer from your local home center.

I use that timer.

You need to click the outer 'thing' to adjust when you want to power your lights or whatever according to your time.

If you want to set up the power on from 4pm till 12 am, you click the outer thing from 4pm till 12am.

It is easy.
